Jo and Tony thinking about kindness, careful speaking, and the way of Jesus.
... with Jo and Tony (and some help from Ray!)
Jo and Tony remember a story about Jesus and a BIG Crowd!
This is the third of our Covid projects, aimed at using our building as a kind of billboard witness for the community. “The building may be closed, but the congregation isn’t”, is the vibe we’re going for. The paper dolls from our Pentecost are still with us, now reshaped into new expressions of life and hope, with the theme “Love is at the heart of it”. Even as the public work on the project happened, we had people saying to us “I hope you’re not taking the dolls down!”, and “Thank you, I love what you’ve done here”. It seems that brightening people’s day is an important gift in these times! Click here to view.
Jo and Tony thinking about seeds and the kingdom of GOD...
This video comes out of an intergenerational ‘community presence’ project at The Avenue Uniting Church at Pentecost this year (31st May 2020). It’s simply a way of many different people saying to the community “The building is closed, but the church isn’t!”. Over 300 paper dolls were placed on the outside walls of the building, together with the words “Companions on the journey” and “We are here to help each other”. Watch the Video by Bronwyn Carnes here.
