QUEST CONNECTING FAITH AND LIFE 2020

Sunday morning from 9.00am to 10.05am in The Avenue Centre.
Sunday morning from 9.00am to 10.05am in The Avenue Centre.
Sunday March 1: Different ways to read the Bible.
When we hear well known parables by Jesus we tend to assume that we know what they were intended to mean when the Gospels were written. By looking at how the Gospel writer introduced them – their original context – a very different meaning can be seen. Often this is about a different vision for how to live.
Leader: David Merritt
Sunday March 8: A marvellous Old Testament story
David will read extracts from the book of Job - probably written in the sixth century before Jesus and one of most widely admired stories in the Hebrew Scriptures. It stirs us to think about big questions including ‘Why do bad things happen to good people?’ and ‘Is suffering a punishment from God?’
Sunday March 15: Spiritual practices
Rev Lynettte Dungan who has been our minister in the months since our previous minister moved to become Moderator of the Synod, will draw on her wide pastoral experience and training to help us think about practices that enrich spiritual life.
Sunday March 22: A Conversation: Evangelical + Liberal = Convergence a Holy Place in between.
Our leader, Rod Dungan, is College Chaplain at Brentwood Secondary College and has wide experience in youth work in the Uniting Church and the community. He will help us to think about seeing beyond some of the traditional differences in ways of being Christian to a more inclusive place.
Sunday March 29: To be decided in light of where we get to on March 8!
